Pacheedaht Language Revitalization
July 22nd, 2014
We are pleased to have Dorothy Shepherd and Deborah Mack visit us from Dididaht First Nation to teach us our shared language Diitiidʔatx.(Diidiitidq) So far the classes have been held every two weeks on Fridays. There have been great interest and we welcome anyone to come and join to learn your language and a bit of the family tree and connections to Ditidaht as well. The First Oral Language Class began May 23.
Classes are from ̣̣11:00-12:00 and 1:00-2:00 with a light lunch break from 12-1 pm. This is a wonderful way to connect with family and learn your roots and some new words of phrases each week! Once again, we welcome new comers of all levels and look forward to seeing you!
Here is a link to the First Voices website where you can hear the words and phrases in both English and the Diitiidʔatx language.
